Time: Spring 2023

Process

Task: Come up with a social media campaign for an area non-profit.

Pitch: The International Crane Foundation is a popular destination for nature lovers in Wisconsin. The headquarters in Baraboo draws in visitors from all over the state. I went there for a field trip, at least once, during my formative years. Learning about wildlife conservation at a young age was insightful and I cherish those memories. Other folks feel the same way, I’m sure. The organization recently unveiled its new facility after some extensive renovations so I felt like this was a good time to talk some numbers

Results: I’m pointing to significant figures and dates in this campaign. Numbers. Though the experience is about a real animal that you can see in person, I wanted to create a sort of surreal effect with these images. The numbers stand out, of course, and that is the point, but the viewer can then wonder what is in the cartoonish looking background image as well. This is to draw in the younger crowd that falls in between adolescent school years and parenting years who often need graphics or further visual elements in addition to photos in and of themselves.
